At a Glance:

After seeing patients unable to get basic health care services, partners Ms. Karla Carwile and Dr. Daniel Ivankovich decided to lead the charge and change the landscape of healthcare by co-founding OnePatient Global Health Initiative. Based in Chicago, the not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization is designed to establish sustainable programs of outreach, prevention and patient education at multiple locations throughout the disparate areas of the United States and throughout the world. With community and faith-based initiatives, Carwile and Dr. Ivankovich’s mission is to improve health outcomes in some of the poorest communities by removing barriers to access and implementing healthcare services OnePatient at a time.



Karla Carwile:


» Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor

» Psychology Degree from University of Illinois, where she currently teaches undergraduate Psychology

» Post-graduate work in Educational Leadership

» Advanced degrees in Human Development Counseling and INO-Disability Studies

» Responsibilities include: Outreach programming, mental health assessment, clinical compliance


Dr. Daniel Ivankovich: dan

» Graduate of Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine

» Attendee of top post-grad fellowship program at RUSH, Northwestern and Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago

» Fellowship-trained trauma surgeon

» Seen over 100,000 patients and performed over 5,000 surgeries

» Responsibilities include: Providing medical and clinical oversight, musculoskeletal health and wellness, healthcare policy creation
